The guy with all the money says that other people getting some of the money wouldn't help them.
And in the US a huge number of people just nod along because our culture tells us that net worth = human worth = intelligence = trustworthiness.
There's no continuing the thought, like if the money won't help struggling teachers then why is it so important that it stay with the person who already has ten thousand times the amount of money that would make a teacher rich and set for life?
Have you heard the song 'If I were a rich man' from Fiddler on the roof? One of the lyrics was that if he was a rich man people would flock to him ask him questions that 'would cross a Rabbi's eyes' meaning they would be complicated. And he says that it would not matter if he was wrong or right since being rich alone is what gives you credibility.
