We should honestly just have a $10 million wealth cap. Enough money that you would never have to work again, and could afford a kick-ass lifestyle for the rest of your life. Every cent above that gets invested in the community, instead of wasting money on mega yachts or whatever.

Im more concerned about money so that the worst off can have a decent enough life than stopping wealth. I want the tax to also make it so you have to be that much more competent to be wealthy and to naturally control the size of peoples fortunes and corporate sizes. I believe if the tax is high enough we should not have to take much action against monopolies. So essentially I feel we have so many idiot rich people now because its waaayyyy to easy to make money once you have money. If your loosing half in the process of profit it will require a modicum of brains. 50% is high enough to me to meet these goals. If it was the only form of tax it could go higher but Im assume we still have other taxes that will make effective taxes more like 2/3rds. What you suggest would have to have no inflation or flexibility in an economy which is just not the case. I don't care if there are billinaires if the poorest are millionaires. One problem with the billionaires now is that most people are currently thousandaires.

In my eyes, the problem is that succeeding in capitalism has almost nothing to do with brains, and almost everything to do with luck and ruthlessness. Workers are the ones who produce value, so any profits that a business owner is able to extract from a business is value that is stolen from the worker. The most successful capitalists are the ones who are most willing to exploit other people. If it becomes impossible to become exceedingly wealthy, then we remove the profit motive on exploitation, and everyone is better off.

ok yeah so I don't think you really want to limit to 10 mil as get rid of capitalism. I do see it as being a way of having to do things but needs to be well regulated. Its the unregulated nature that allows for cheating to be the way over actually producing. In my opinion anyway.

Yeah, I do want to get rid of capitalism, but realistically, setting wealth caps could be a way of getting there without bloody revolution. Similar to how China is using capitalism to industrialize and build socialism instead of just nationalizing everything and expecting an undeveloped populace to gracefully hold power. The Cultural Revolution proved that you can't change people overnight, it's a generational process. By having wealth caps and investing surplus value into communities, you can change worldviews by changing material conditions.

Yeah so im not. I do think its a necessary part of human interaction and you can't have trade and buying and selling without recognizing it. and yes I have had the many people who are like oh you can still have currency and people can choose what they like but when it comes down to many things that don't matter that much the point system is kinda needed for who has the house in that particular spot or that particular way. I like a balance. I want many things socialized or nationalized. Honestly anything that is a necessity or a network which limits any real competition. So healthcare, education, utilities, and such along with basic income and such.
