I've never had bad tofu, but I've also never had tofu that blew my tits clean off.

No that's good tofu. Bad tofu is when you just heat it up unpressed, unmarinated, and without frying it, so it ends up just being sad watery cubes.

Not really.

Had old tofu in fridge. Didn't really drain it. Tried to fry it. Disaster. Old tofu past its prime with liquid definitely has a bad taste.

I have also had amazing tofu. There is a place near me that does a crispy tofu with a dry rub similar to crispy chicken.

You can definitely have bad tofu. It can be overly hard but not in a crunchy kind of way. Just tough.

I have had my mind blown by some Asian tofu dishes, not very often but it's happened.
