Police works different outside the US. In civilized countries, the police actually serves the people so citizens of said countries don't fear the police because, most times, they do protect people and even arrest politicians/rich people.
It's not boot licking because in normal countries, people trust their police force even if sometimes they too do wrong things (and get punished by it).
I'm from EU and didn't imply US circumstances btw
that doesn't make it right to beat up ppl because they are in the way or shoving a bit.
I'm also from the EU and I very much fear some of my country's police forces. And I'm not even a person of color.
