  • China, 8.5 GW (12.5%, 3.5 times less than the US) [0.8% of national grid]
  • Germany, 5.5 GW (8.1%) [9.5% of national grid]
  • Japan, 1.7 GW (2.5%) [1.5% of national grid]

However, their executive summary shows a graph in terawatthours over 2026 so far and the shares and burden on grids are way off: for example, Germany's data centers now sit at only 6.1% of the national grid instead of 9.5%. And the bubbles in the map below don't make sense either, Brazil is now in the top 3???
