You underestimate Liberalism. These people will LITERALLY deny reality. No amount of evidence will sway them. Like canadian libs will claim canada is the best country in the world and all the reasons they give arent true. But pointing out that will do nothing. They will just keep claiming it, "well, I think so."
Ideology is a fuck. Most people live following the path laid out for them by their society/culture. I hate saying this, but most people dont think all that much, just go along with their cultural conditioning.

The propaganda works. Ordinary folks can hear this shit and think it is plausible. I'm talking about the politicians and pundits specifically. Your friends and family might repeat something like this because they heard it on CNN or NPR (or whatever the Canadian analogues are), but the lanyard demon on NPR who said it is a mercenary who knows exactly what they're doing.
Any Canadian who thinks Canada is the best country in the world is delusional. No matter what metric or point of view you measure from, we dont come out on top in any category. We're B tier
