I'm not actually recommending this, it would probably backfire more often than not, but I bet someone has done it

Just think, if you've met a lot of people at various schools, workplaces, clubs, etc..., there are probably people in your past you don't remember. Just go up to someone and start talking to them like you know them, they'll probably pretend to know who you are to avoid embarrassment and then you can reminisce about fake memories of when you were in school together. It wouldn't work on everybody, but there are some people who are very suggestible and easily convinced they remember things that didn't happen

In the wake of my divorce I cut the shitty people out of my life and got my health in order. I lost about 70lbs of fat and added about 30 pounds of muscle, and completely revamped my style. Now, about 5 years later anytime I run into someone from my past, they don't recognize me. This includes my former close friends. It's so fun to just walk up to someone, call them and their spouse by their names, and start chatting like an old friend while you watch the confusion wash over their face. Most play along like they know you, when they clearly don't.
