I told you it was always about oil . It was always not only about israel colonial interests but also american imperialist interests

Who was arguing with you?

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean..... Israeli colonial interests and American imperialist interest are kinda the same thing.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Most people at least those vocal on lemmy claims that it's only about Israel colonial interests. It is about both

I guess it can be a bit confusing considering Israel is basically a vassal state of the US, but at times it can be hard to tell who is the tiger and whose is holding it by the tail.

I disagree. This is spin with no possibility of pay off. It's still all about Israel weakening Iran and annexing Lebanon.

And the obscene ammount of blackmail generated by Epstein and Maxwell of course.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why the blackmail did not make Trump go back completely to full scale war on Iran or the allow isrsel to officially annex the whole west bank and abolish the PA?

I wouldn't say waiting more like slow walking... You can only use kompromat once, but you can threaten to use it forever.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The israeli leaders already expressed that they want full scale war resumptions now and never wanted negociations at all. It would be easy to get it if it was all about blackmailing

[–] compuglobalhypermeganet@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The negotiations have been a joke. Even if they could agree on anything, Israel won't let them happen. But full scale war is just not an option. Politically or militarily. So we get this siege/stalemate. America keeps Iran busy while Israel goes full speed on the annexation.

But full scale war is just not an option. Politically or militarily.

You are proving my point. Israel want the full scale war to continue. The USA is still not returning to full war because like you said a full scale war is a bad option for the USA. Taco once again backtracked about occupying Kharg Island. Trump is an idiot the yesterday attacks was not done because Israel asked it but because Trump again thought doing it would give the USA more leverage in the negotiations, he is wrong.

The reason the stalemate exists is because Iran will not give up it's right to get compensations from the usa and removal of sanctions and the usa regardless of who in charge would not want to remove sanctions because it is the cornerstone of the usa imperialist strategy.

Because Israel is evil not stupid? Their plan is working great.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Israel also believed that they could easily take Iran out. They was stupid

[–] redsand@infosec.pub 2 points 1 day ago

Lol no, that's just what they told the orange diatraction and the goons. This is a slow and methodical land grab.

I told you it was always about oil

More broadly, it is about western imperial expansion. Control of the Red Sea. Control of the Suez Canal. The ability to cut China and Russia off from international markets (specifically, trade with India and West Africa).

Oil was a big part of it, but not the whole.

It was always not only about israel colonial interests but also american imperialist interests

They're joined at the hip.
