One thing you can certainly could do is hand in a blank ballot, or write in a candidate, or vote PSL. I mean this is just me looking at how I will approach the next elections here in g*rmany where the amount of choices just leads to a more believable solution. Plus in the US you already have out and out fascism, concentration camps, pogroms you name it. Participating in that system, giving a vote whether who you'd rather have deporting people or bombing children just serves to legitimize the outcome which you can't affect either way. The only "harm reduction" is how much the harm will affect you or others. Anyway this article makes it more clear I believe.
