i've read a book that said that the reason empires fall is frequently that they produce too many "elite" for the empire to sustain. so some of the elite that want more status are willing to sell out their country to foreign influence to topple the current order.

imagine a crazy world like that if you can

I guarantee there are 'elite' out there seething that Musk has 'their' money, and will do anything to somehow get it from him.
