One of my favorite tidbits about Oblivion is that, when Bethesda brought Patrick Stewart in to play Uriel Septim, they gave him this big 90-page booklet detailing the character’s history and background and motivations, and they were really worried that they’d gone overboard and given him too much. Meanwhile, Stewart was delighted--he’s said that it was the best character prep he’d ever been given, and he wished more people would do that.

I wish Bethesda had put even a quarter of the effort into the rest of the voice actors lines/prep. So much of the voice acting was disjointed and obviously didn't flow at all. Obviously recorded out of order and without context.

I don't blame the voice actors, as they can only do so much with what they are given. Just seems silly to focus so much effort on Patrick Stewart, who dies like 5 minutes into the game. Then completely disregard everyone else in the game.
