On Monday, the US Supreme Court decided in Trump v. Slaughter that the US Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) may not be independent anymore. Since 2000, the EU has relied on the “independent” FTC as the enforcer of EU-US deals on personal data. According to EU treaty law, such oversight must be independent. In the current EU-US deal, the European Commission relies on the independent FTC 259 (!) times.

America was a beacon for the world

Yeah. For a brief moment in the 19th century maybe.

While we're having issues with LGBTQ, we were a leader in treating people with respect for a few decades. That's our norm.

The USA has been the only rich country with unsolved racism for decades. Is that treating people with respect?

The idea that any G20 country has solved racism is absurd.

Like seriously... We don't have as many issues with racism against black peeps in Germany (as the US has), but that's because very few live here at all.

"Our" racism targets eastern Europeans and (in my region) Turkish ppl, but I guess that's not racist because they're close enough in skin tone? (/s obviously)

Hilarious. Should we tell Canada, Australia, China, and Germany they're not rich?
