Microsoft didn't say shit. Some idiot from the ESA did.
Some idiot represents Microsoft as a member of the ESA so Microsoft really should clear this up if they don't want it reflecting badly on them. Of course, that's if they even care and aren't going to use this as backdoor to stop supporting private servers.
Microsoft isn't saying shit now because they want to see how this bullshit pans out.
