No one is forcing them to own and earn a profit from a Concentration camp.
The only nuance here is the sheer amount of human suffering this person enjoys the benefits of.
I own a smartphone. It's great. If I explore that whole supply chain, am I going to come out squeaky clean or is it possible that I am benefiting off of the exploitation and potential slavery of other humans? Is that a tolerable amount of suffering compared to the Concentration Camp guy?
Let's just say I agree with your insanely stupid idea, that human suffering is some type of necessary evil.
You owning a product of human suffering is bad, but not as bad as owning the company athat causes the human suffering and profiting off if it.
This was called out and I admit that I was being a bit silly. I won't pursue it.
~~But I could easily take the position that all human suffering is bad and therefore you, as a participant in capitalism, should be excluded from society.~~ ~~Why is your moral judgment more valid than mine in this instance?~~
I do not recall saying that human suffering is a necessary evil. I do recall saying that people's value of one another is nuanced. Human suffering isn't a necessary evil, it is just something that exists. Some people suffer more and some people suffer less, but everyone suffers and there isn't anything evil about it.
If slave catchers abduct people, and bring them to a for-profit concentration camp with forced labor, the owner of that camp is evil in my book.
It doesn't matter how good he is at giving blowjobs, there is no room for unrelated nuance. That's an evil person making profit by creating human suffering.
Okay. I disagree with your assessment of the availability of nuance.
What's your nuanced opinion on Hitler?
He's not my cup of tea, but his dog sure loved him.
Tu quoque.
But also, fine.
