I'm not saying Rings of Power was a financial failure, but a 2024 show is getting a 3rd season before 2022 one... (I don't care about new LoTR. I got the books and the movies. Don't need Rings of Power or those Gollum movies)
What is your post trying to say?
Amazon is trying to prove that Rings of Power isn't losing money, but the fact they are greenlighting other shows faster than others implies that Fallout is making money, while Rings of Power isn't.
Season three of ROP is scheduled to be released in November of this year.
Amazon paid 750 million dollars for the rights for ROP and part of that deal was a five season commitment. I doubt they were ever be any discussion on if the next season will be “greenlit” or not until after S5 is released.
If the show is successful or not for Amazon I have no idea nor do I really care. I quit watching that dogshit in episode 2 of season 2.
ROP sucked teh budget out of other shows.
