Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Not toooo regular, but it happens.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I get scolded a lot for being too outspoken. Apparently I’m holding women back lol

Anyway, it can be fun to see the tantrums in my DMs so oh well.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not too boast but I regularly get called things like a "well known misandrist". I genuinely don't think they understand how proud I feel when incels call me that.

Damn, that label kinda goes hard. You should be proud hahaha

My mate said she's gonna get mr a t shirt with that on. I'll wear the shit out of it

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 2 points 14 hours ago

That’s the sweetest! I hope you share a pic here when it happens

[–] Zizzy@piefed.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 day ago (4 children)

I never get DMs i must be doing something wrong

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Same here! What do I do to get DMs from whiny manosphere types?

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Am I the only one happy not to be getting those sorts of DMs?

[–] Beth@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

Nah I’m also fine without.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I'm more amused about it than anything. I will fully admit I used Reddit and similar sites for conversing and such before and my comments on Lemmy are very similar. But the amount of screeching manosphere types are SO LOUD on Lemmy! It's astonishing the kinds of things people say to me here.

I call out bullshit when I see it, but I'm rather kind and positive in general. So when I've got a message telling me that my attitude is why women should be subjugated or raped, I feel a little pride in upsetting a truly horrible person just by being myself.

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Well done for putting up with it ... it's amazing how online discourse just keeps on getting worse. But then I remember just a tiny number if the IRL atrocities that have happened and are happening now, and I wonder how I could be surprised at all.

They're determined to drive women to either misandry or subjugation, and I don't understand why.

[–] Seleni@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Territorial, maybe? Women are ‘invading their spaces’ (i.e. the job market, sports teams…) so they have to chase us away to defend their territory?

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not sure about that, since it's men like them who defined those as "their spaces" in the first place ... they would only be happy if every space was their space.

[–] Seleni@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Right; they declared it their territory, all kids keep off the lawn, and then us women just stroll on in like we want jobs and money and hobbies and all the other stuff they said was theirs, no touchie!

And they don’t want every space as their space, just every one that gets them a good wage (defending hunting grounds?), or good recognition (keeping a higher place in the tribe?). Like, brewing beer and doing computer work (for example) were a woman’s space until men realized they could make a lot of money at that stuff.

FR I really think it’s a tribalism/territorial thing. I mean, pretty much all humans are kinda tribal/territorial but a lot of men seem to especially be so?

[–] JennyLaFae@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 8 hours ago

Men can't stand it when a woman has more than them, whether being a supervisor in the workplace or being better than them at a skill or knowledge or any other metric. The men that don't act as threatened just consider themselves higher on the ladder. The ones that know they're at the bottom screech harder about women even existing in their spaces because of it.

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 day ago

All good points, though I think it's also about control and power over others, of which women are the most readily available others

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I like the cool people here more than I’m bothered by the assholes, I guess lol

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Same same :-)

My wondering why was aimed at the whiny chuds

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh yeah who knows probably just driven by insecurity and anger, bypassing any sort of introspection and lashing out at others instead.

No, but it could be server choice.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not really. I was joking about being jealous. 😉

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago

Ah, fair enough ... carry on o7

[–] HertzDentalBar@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Have you expressed that you are of the female persuasion? They need to know you are before they feel the need to correct you. Otherwise youre just a guy to them and will be ignored beyond a stupid comment.

Not all men but most men, and I say this as a NB AMAB.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That's the real clincher there. When someone even sees my clearly female name, I get mass downvotes on all my comments and posts.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 3 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yep! I've noticed women are more likely to get that. It's really obvious. I've had incels follow me round lemmy making passive aggressive remarks... I honestly feel sorry for them, all that hate and anger can't feel good for them. But they don't do the work on themselves that they need to do, so they're trapped with that anger eating them alive.

Same, same.

Why are men 😔 I wish I could just bitchslap the toxic masculinity outta these fucks

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago

Saaame I feel left out.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago
