As a multi owner (mine is an "old" 1200), I'd love to know what made you switch up and if the grass really is greener.
I used to have a Pikes Peak 1200 before the V4S, so I've liked the Multis for a while. I've never had a BMW or a liter bike before so decided before I get too old I should see what they're all about. The M XR handles better than my PP did and has almost all the comfort my V4 did, so I'd say it's a great blend of performance and comfort, leaning more towards performance.
Of those 3 bikes, the 1200 with a Termi sounds the best and has the most punch when you twist the throttle, the V4 has the most comfort, but the M has the best handling by far plus a huge giggle factor. It's stupid fast
