In the context of the war in Ukraine – and with Russia justifying its invasion, which began on 24 February, by the desire to "denazify" the country – many states that had previously abstained decided to vote against the resolution this year.

This one had me confused, because in some states Nazi symbols sends you to jail in Australia, yet they voted against it.

That's because the resolution was introduced by Russia to try and justify their war to "de-nazify" Ukraine.
