Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Kill thousands of Palestinian children, including by picking infants up by the ankle and swinging them hard as you can into brick walls, and impaling pregnant women through the stomach and leaving them to die in the dirt?

The British government paved the way for those settlers, don't forget. They assumed control of the land, kicked out the natives and beckoned for all the Israelites to enter, who, obviously, started murdering anyone still in Palestine. This chapter of their cruelty started in 1948 and Britain's government, who has always been a piece of shit, made it so.
That's crazy. Fortunately the world is full of countries like China, the US, Germany, Russia... you know, big places where everything has run on compassion for others and doing the right thing for the last hundred plus years.

It's just some strange tribalism I think. I think in their mind you have to be supporting another empire instead, it seems some are unable to understand that you support none of them.
I find it more than a bit ironic that after I list many other countries who have done and/or are doing tons of awful things you say that.

I'm lost on how so many people seemed to take me listing the countries I did followed by the description of them as having "run on compassion for others and doing the right thing for the last hundred plus years" and seen anything other than sarcasm.
All of the listed countries have been responsible for the deaths of mass numbers of innocent civilians, and kids, and nuns, and nuns carrying infants who were carrying baby kittens over the last 100 or so years. Fuck, more than one of them has been responsible for that in the last few months.
In my case it was a combination of it being hard to read sarcasm online in many cases, especially if you are not already familiar with the author, along with the number of times I run into "You don't support A? That means you support B!" in political discussions.
I covered a few bases and was very wordy in my other comment to you, but otherwise yeah that really did not land for the majority. FWIW sarcasm was my first take.
Nice. To be fair I was super high yesterday and couldn't stop typing. Switched ADD meds yesterday morning and am now trying to adjust to a larger amount of a different form of amphetamine. Not an awful problem to have, but understandably likely confusing to try to translate from the outside.
Aha I also was commenting way too much last night. Hope the meds go well - my healthcare provider often mandates a gradual switch of taking both together, and increasing one while decreasing the other, mainly to mitigate adverse effects. If you switched suddenly that would be hella rough.

That is also a possibility. I just run into way too many that seem to assume that to automatically default to reading it as sarcasm.
Hopium aha. In this case it was true, and we as a community are too battered to default to the most positive likelihood any more..
Edit: each of these are incorrect, and more wild theories based on misconceptions than simply 'sarcasm that missed the mark'. We were the ones with the misconceptions, not Abyssian.
I get it, if you mean I'm being unnecessarily narrow-minded: there's no need to single out one or two cruel empires when there are many.. All of the most globally influential countries and many smaller ones are ethically awful and cause suffering, that it may be easier to count the ones that are wholly kind and benevolently ruled.
If you are subtly referencing the destruction of native civilisations for the unification of the newcomers: Many countries like Australia, Russia and Greenland (to name a few, perhaps less known ones) have natives a.k.a. people who lived there first that are horribly oppressed and shunned, but let's not try to erase the most significant acts of evil in modern history, condoned by a massive portion of the local population. One wrongful act does not excuse or justify another.
If you're referring to the systemic hate of Jews in those countries and most of Europe: please remember that the ethnoreligion of Judaism, the cult of Zion and the nationality of Israel are not the same.

Just to be clear, I wholeheartedly believe they are capable of this. I'd just love to have a source to cite in future
I wasn't making factual claims of any certain incidents. I was using (sadly very light)hyperbole to make a point. There are databases of atrocities against Palestinians you can look into online. I stopped having the stomach for it a while ago. The things mentioned in my comment aren't specific incidents, but they are the level of evil that has been documented many times over.
