Can confirm a Masters is pointless. Especially when everyone else at your table in the pub has a PhD.

I’m laughing to think what happens when the market is saturated with PhDs.

Will everyone need to be a professor to be competitive?

I wasn’t actually in competition with them at least, as they were all post-docs I know. The masters never did anything for my career in software that starting a year earlier wouldn’t have done better, except that the state paid for my ales.
