I pay 0.45/kWh at home.
Electric monopolies were a mistake.
I assume 0.45 $/kWh? Where do you live? This seams really expensive for the USA. In Germany (where everyone is complaining about high consumer electricity prices) the price is 0.24 to 0.30 €/kWh. I always thought those were high.
Btw electricity prices in Germany have not gone up, because of the Iran war. This is because a majority is produced by wind and solar. Natural gas, oil, diesel & gasoline have gone up significantly in price.

Is a solar and battery installation possible in your situation? At that price per kWh the payoff should be pretty quick.
