I don't pay and don't get ads either. Stop being a sucker. Yes, I am fine with them going bankrupt if everyone would do that.

Agreed! I'll take it a step further that they need to face bankruptcy over this!
The problem is that even if everyone paid for YouTube's subscription, they'd raise the price, slash the features, and reintroduce ads unless you pay for an even more expensive tier. Just like Netflix.
Why? Because advertising companies will always be giving more money to YouTube than the users. The only thing paying YouTube gets you is the Sunk Cost fallacy.
Fair enough, but dont whine when Youtube circumvents adblockers and starts injecting ads directly into video streams. You did this.
