I think part of it is that boomers are really into AI, and boomers tend to be more conservative. Techbros are also really into it, and also tend to be more conservative.
Conservatives are also the people in power, so AI companies and their executives are incentivized to appeal to conservatives, so that they'll get more benefits from the government.
Art, writing, etc. are also more liberal degrees/professions, and they are some of the people most harmed by AI right now. They have a material interest in opposing it.
