even during near extinctiin events the humanv population rebounded up. Our ancestors were not supposed to survife the height of our current Ice Age....they did anyways! Like just imagine how demoralizing it must have bbeen to only see ice and snow all day , barely any sun or greenery and your diet consisted oof the same cold resistant animals and plants almost all day everyday....but our ancestors were STILL popping out babies like crazy back then.

If the population is decreased by a large enough event and the planet is still intact , anyone who sees humsn extinction as a possibility is deranged or way too young to be thinkinfg about that or both lol

The thing about this thinking is its using relatively small changes that happened over vast amounts of time historically compared to what we are doing now. The early eocene like climate we are pushing the planet toward is coming in hundreds of years when previous changes took millions. This is besides our activities causing extinctions of species to happen at an unprecedented rate. Again in terms of hundreds of years. And the poisoning type activities we have had like mercury build up in fish and whatever microplastics end up doing. We are creating a unique circumstance that cannot be compared to what was seen in the paste because its never been seen before. Honestly will man or even the earth survive. That is kinda silly to think about because its about surviving as an advanced species long term keeping out knowledge intacted and not having horrible things in our existence and if you have kids or like to image your kids kids and such that it be bad for their existence. For some of us its because we want to see a better existence for all humans who come to be regardless if it is from our loins or not. For our species to find a way to advance in a sustainable way.
