Yeah the thing people keep underestimating when trying to make money off of social media is that the general public and young people aren't guranteed to want to keep using it. Once things get shitty enough people will stop desiring to use it, ALL OF IT.

This is one of the reasons I am so passionate about the Fediverse, I genuinely believe in the positive potential of social media when it is done right and I am scared people will be taught to hate social media by corporations when it is really the corporations enshittifying social media that they hate.

Fake ass visions of the future of social media like Bluesky just end up making people more cynical and closeminded about digital communities and I am tired of the cycle.
