If you're looking for an alternative to Adobe products, this is a great place to start if you don't mind it not being open-source. It also works great on Linux under Wine with no noticeable issues which is awesome.

*All the basic features are free to use, but if you're a user of Photoshop's generative fill, smart select, or other AI doohickeys and want to use those kinds of things in Affinity, you have to pay a small monthly subscription.

For the price of all your data and your immortal soul, and in six months they’ll start the SAAS treadmill for shit sure. I purchased the affinity v2 suite earlier this year and I’m currently trying to figure out how to get my money back because I don’t have any interest in selling myself to Canva and a permanent license isn’t even worth dogshit if the software isn’t actively supported or developed.

Just to be clear, they have been very quiet about the roadmap ahead after dropping this bag of hot garbage on us, now the old affinty site and forums are archived and old affinity user logins were not merged into Canva(probably for the best). You can look and login for the v2 software but for how long they’re going to keep it online is unclear. From the discord people are already have trouble with licensing.

Just pirate photoshop or fuck it, pirate affinity v2 since v3 is not a safe option now. Don’t give adobe or canva anything ever.
