I'll just necropost here for fun: to me it looks like a white balance "issue", with the first picture being much more green tinted. Leaving color temperature the same but moving the tint slider to magenta could bring out a color that more properly matches what you perceive in reality. This can be done with any basic photo app, like the iOS Photo library.
Yeah totally agree with you, there's a lot more green/yellow in the pic OP received than the one they took themselves.
OP if tinting looks strange or doesn't work, try requesting the original from the photographer - it may be easier to work with colour adjustment layers on an unedited photo than try to alter an already edited one!

I think the color matches better OPs perceived color, but I’m not a pro and color management drives me crazy sometimes - that’s the reason why I felt picking up this old post would be fun :)
That’s awesome! You’re definitely underselling your abilities. Thanks!!
Nice work! I agree with you that I think that's a much closer match, although I'm not OP so hopefully they're still hanging around to see this! 🤞
Love picking up little tinkering tasks from older posts. It's fun!
Yep, just now seeing this, but still here. Thanks to you both for your input. It’s greatly appreciated!
