This happened to me 10 years ago, I got sick and fought for my life for around 30 days, and after healing I started having side effects - after effects of that illness and I literally couldn't do anything for like 50 days. I literally haven't felt depressed at all before that but since then I have depression and some episodes occasionally especially night time before I go to sleep.

I really wonder if anyone experiences the same thing.

I've experienced a sharp increase in my depression after going through many surgeries in a row. Being previously depressed, all that time bedridden wasn't good for my mind.

If you are asking if some infections can induce chronic depression then I can't say much.
