I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't show the benchmarks side-by-side with their Windows benchmarks. Even though the recording software is different and it's hard to control the variables, this is what Windows users want to know before switching to Linux. Is it a 20% loss or 20% gain? Is it within +/-5% for all the games you play? You have to put in extra work to take the information from this video and make a comparison to their other videos.
They explained quite well why those comparisons aren't valid either way. They are freezing their setup from updates so performance claims are mostly invalidated almost immediately etc.
They going to lengths trying to remove variables and compare apple to apple, which is not possible when comparing different platforms.
I think this is exactly why they don't do side by side comparisons. It would be inaccurate
To make it even they could have used a capture card.
They aren't talking about video footage
Nobody gives a fuck about windows. This video is about Linux gaming, not switching over from windows.
Yet a major factor for people being hesitant to switch is how their gaming experience will differ, so seeing differences might be useful.
Again, nobody cares about windows. Not everything is about switching over.
