What is the reason to use piefed over lemmy and why are all the liberal instances transferred? (lemmygrad.ml)

It sounds dumb to me to switch to an entirely different platform that's suppose to be a "better" lemmy instead of just contributing to Lemmy and making it better for everyone. I'm sure there would be a good reason to go through all this trouble and I'm pretty sure its ideological (with the lemmy devs being ML)

It's really just the deep unseriousness of liberals that can't stand communists developing tools they use. There are a couple neat moderation tools from what I've heard, but that's about it, it's overwhelmingly ideological.
