More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

They have no idea who I did or didn't vote for when I complain about them, so it's completely possible to both complain as well as not vote for anyone at all. A spoiled ballot indicates that you intend to vote, but that nobody running for election is suitable, which is exactly how I feel. Spoiled ballots need to be read by multiple people, generally including the candidates, in case they feel my paper indicates a vote for them. My spoiled ballots have been seen and sent a message to more people than an x in a random box ever will. So yes, I do think it's a clever move to spoil a ballot as opposed to being a good little voter and putting my x in the box like the other ~99.7% of voters. If more people did the same, that would say more than voting for a specific person ever will.
