any goblin or undead attacks yet? my first attempt got fun due to a horde of undead with a battering ram. really need to get those active defenses up, can't rely on walls and drawbridges for eternal protection.
so this time i started out on flat terrain with a shallow aquifer and immediately dug out a moat and began building towers to house bolt throwers and catapults, which is proving quite effective against the occasional langur or goblin raid but hasn't been tested against a proper siege army.
I've got some fortified (though not re-enforced) bastions protecting the enterance, but they aren't very tall and I still need to increase manpower. I currently have a squad of 8 with steel plate armor and various weapons. Goblins are about 6 days travel east, so I might have to provoke them.
my axe militia just made short work of a cyclops. snicker snack.
