Well that’s certainly a take. I watched it for the 2nd time recently and I think it’s a pretty solid flick that has a lot to say. I think the absolute absurdity it descends into was supposed to be part of the point, but I also like movies that are completely over the top - like Beau Is Afraid.
I still haven’t checked out Weapons yet but I keep hearing good things.
I really liked both liked Barbarian and Beau Is Afraid. got any other recommendations?

Well I guess it’s up to interpretation but one theme I took away from is

The first half of the movie the woman protagonist is untrusting of the situation with the male. He eventually wins her trust over then dies.In the meantime in the 2nd half, the douchebag character Justin Long constantly betrays her trust through various acts as the absurdity completely amps up.
