My grandmother had a reusable honey jar with one of these attached to the lid. It just closed inside,.You opened the lid, drizzled it on the bread an then closed the honey. It was also handy for pancakes and other small weight based recipes that needed small amounts of honey.
my grandma had a honey jar that stood in a glass saucer and it had a button on top of the handle that would open a vent in the bottom to drizzle the honey out. it was the coolest kitchen utensil i had ever seen as a kid. kinda like this: https://smania.store/at/produkt/honig-spender-honeydrizzle/
