Considering it’s based on self report i wouldnt be surprised if the queer kids were not ready to come out to some random interviewer lol. Especially since it seems they would be also outing whoever they were fucking?

Yeah i'm assuming that as well, but that does show that the interviews were conducted in a way that did not make people feel safe and anonymous enough to answer intimate questions honestly, which calls the other findings into doubt as well.

I know teenagers are way different now, and hookup culture wasn't much of a thing when I was growing up, but in my experience a lot of queer people are late bloomers. I didn't get really laid until late in life because I realized who I was really attracted to.
