I see this guys tweets a lot around here.

On his site he says he’s an author. Is that his claim to fame? Why does everyone follow him and repost his tweets?

I and others have noticed and asked the same, never seen a good answer. I highly doubt it's all OC from him, his tweets posted here gets to the top so often and they're so varied that it just looks like he takes other popular tweets or whatever and writes his own versions (I know for a fact that's the case for some). It's very odd, almost feels like some bot fueled posting of stuff with his name attached.

I think it's simply that OP follows him, he tweets a lot, and OP is a Lemmy power user so posts his tweets here frequently. Any time I see his tweets it's always been posted by OP; I've seen some users suspect OP of being a bot but given the amount of regular comments they also post I feel like it might just be someone who has a pretty regular routine of posting stuff they've found during the day.

All just speculation from me though...

That would track. It’s not hard to be a power user on lemmy.

I would ask if the poster is someone who came to lemmy and started mass posting immediately.

it's probably because the poster is a follower and they just share what they see on their feed
