Honestly if driving is that hectic for you, maybe you're the problem? I'm not sure where you're from but I'm the states or eu it's just not that bad.

It absolutely is that bad. I'm in the US and drive to multiple locations every single day. Of course some areas are better/worse than others, but in my subjective opinion, it keeps getting worse. Distracted driving, drunks, texting/insta/whatever, aggression, impatience, excessive speeding, veering from lane to lane without signaling, straight-up dangerous maneuvers, etc. I see it all the time. What's not subjective is that road deaths are going up, at least in the US.

In a year, I’ve witnessed multiple accidents involving busses where the car at fault seemingly didn’t notice the bus. It’s just bad here
