Forgetting stuff is the reason I make shopping lists. To many times was I sent out to get a few things buy still ended up not getting everything or not the right stuff.

Yeah ... If it's genuinely important that I get something, I'll write it down, but usually I have a general idea of what I want my options to be for the immediate future and can remember enough to roughly satisfy that.

I usually don't bother writing things down because I'm worse at remembering to look at what I wrote than I am at remembering an approximation of a list.
