First of all, no, no they're not. I'm pretty sure there are no or very few billionaires on Reddit, and yet....
Second of all, even if this was true. So what? Like are you saying they are untouchable and the poor people who elected a rapist for President can't do anything?
Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm saying, in order to get me to say what I'm saying.
Unless you're saying that Americans are powerless to do anything, I literally don't. Please explain.
Are you Canadian?
Because Lemmy allows user flair, I now have this guy tagged as "R U Canadian"
Sounds like something a Canadian would say
What does that have to do with anything??
And no, I'm not. Why do you keep asking that everyone?
Trying to change the topic?
I'm asking because it's common for Canadians to not understand that America has actual fascism, not just like on TV or the news. Like, the kind where the government rigs elections and kills random people who accidentally piss them off? And it's been like that for at least 30 years to varying degrees? That level of political subjugation requires that the masses are powerless and unaware to some degree, and that they literally do not have the means to do anything about it. I'm not saying it's hopeless or impossible, but expecting Americans to just somehow fix it by 'voting differently' and by not being assholes anymore is sort of weird?? Please tell me if I am incorrect, but didn't Trump lose in 2016 and then was elected by the Electorial College? What exactly do you expect people to do, and what do you expect people to do that would take effect within the next few years?
First of all, you have a weird bias about Canadians.
Second, no one ever said anything about "voting differently", but that explains your inaction and acceptance of the fascism in your country if you think that's all the power people have.
Go read some books about the French revolution, about the collapse of the soviet union and members gaining independence.
Edit:
Are you saying Americans are unaware? Still, after all that happened in the past year?
Powerless? Billionaires and politicians barely make up 1%. 99% can easily overthrow the 1%, they only need a tiny bit of courage and organisation.
Stop making excuses for the rapists and fascists that your country created, stop fucking whining about not being able to do anything. It is absolutely every American's responsibility to stop these pedo fascists, because no one else will do that for you.
You're telling me to discuss violent political revolution over social media, and you're using a pre-Internet society as a model for said hypothetical.
I'm talking to a crazy person. I apologize for engaging.
Like Trump isn't literally calling for democrats speaking against him to be handed death penalties. It's okay for him to do that, right?
Yes, go make another internet post about how annoyed you are about the current government. That will surely make a difference!
Edit: Shit, I engaged again. They're good!
