Your criteria is right but your findings about Die Hard are in error. The Christmas party at Nakatomi is what brought John McClane to town. It is why there is minimal security at the building. Christmas is integral to the plans of the terrorists as well as what brings the hero to LA from New York.

By your own metric Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Before everyone started calling for Die Hard to be a Christmas Movie, I couldn’t have even said what party was happening without rewatching it.

I’m not saying the movie is bad or anything. 🤷

These kind of companies in that era didn't do New Year's Eve parties. So not, not really.
