Yeah, starting at $170 USD for 32 GB is really high.
ETA: this camelcamelcamel price history tells an interesting story too:
I bought 96g of sodimm about six months ago for about $225 after tax. That same pack spiked to about $850 before tax and has been hovering there for a few weeks

I bought mine at the first price hike from 40$ to 60$ which was a pretty good decision.
