Not sure I should be giving this person the benefit of the doubt, but anyhow: Best way I can interpret this is as some form of sunk cost fallacy: they keep supporting Trump/MAGA no matter how ludicrous it gets.
I suspect there's quite a few people like that these days.
Of course some of them are merely full mask off - i.e. they actually like the hate, and the suffering this admin causes.
They're just fascists. My guy is right by virtue of being my guy. No need to over think it, they're just assholes.
