Does anyone have a decent solution for looking up addresses? Coming from Google maps I'm used to being able to put an address in. In CoMaps I get nothing in search. Really hard to use the app in that case.

I've found that address search in CoMaps is hit or miss, but I think that comes down to whether the underlying OpenStreetMap data even knows the address in question. So maybe check on OpenStreetMap to see if the address you're looking for is missing? And if so, add it?

Sure, I can do that. However it doesnt fix the more immediate problem which seems to be I can't use it without also using Google Maps.

You can self host a server if you don't want to pay to use the default server: https://git.sr.ht/~amolith/adresilo-server

It works for me, even with substrings.

It's sometimes a bit fiddly though as adding even the tiniest bit of data that is not contained in the address as OSM knows it will invalidate the entire search.
