No, she was 2/10 crazy for most of the series, with lots of references to her mad family. Then once or twice she went 4 or 5 out of 10 vindictive against people who the audience didn’t feel sympathy for. Then she jumped to 8/10 crazy and the following week she’s genociding kings landing. It wasn’t gradual, it was signposted, but a sudden character shift.

The showrunners wanted to leave fast to go work for Disney. That's why they rushed when HBO told them that if they needed two more seasons there was no problem at all.
