!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

There are no divine guard rails and Trump is merely a symptom of a diseased country....diseased west internationally frankly. Looks like nothing will be done until maybe a critical mass of you have nothing to lose. Too comfortable and selfish for now, waiting for invisible heroes who will never arrive to do the hard stuff for you. Or not. Could end up like Russia for centuries.
Laws written are only applied to the out group, not the in group under nazi regime. The in group shrinks over time.

Canada is a diverse place with regions and cultures… but lump them all into a single state. Sure. How many electoral college votes does Canada get?

I think their current focus is with Alberta and funding the fringe separatist movement there with the support and rigging of the system traitor Smith and the Wildrose faction of the worst political party merger since the CPC federally. Fuck you, Jason Kenney. Their polling is trending down, but idk we got years of suffering to go to see if NDP can eek out a win with a centrist NDP as it will be under Nenshi. It hinges on Calgary, gods save us all for that's always a let down historically.

If they (Republicans, their media empire Carney does nothing about, or their dark money) get Alberta to separate then IMO USA will annex it. 51st state talk is mostly just inflammatory words meant to catch headlines, for now.
