The Department of Homeland Security said an agent fired “defensive shots” that hit a man in the leg.

Coming from most people, "I shot in self-defense" would have a particular meaning and we could investigate to determine whether someone is saying it truly. But what meaning does it have coming from these heavily armed knuckleheads who view everyone as an enemy and a threat? In their world view, every shot is defensive if they fired it, because they feel permanently threatened and embattled.
