Shock therapy in the former socialist bloc killed millions of people. The Neoliberal Holocaust cites older research putting the death toll at 7 million, and more recent (though currently unpublished?) research at 16.9 million.

As va11kyrie said, from the Peace, Land and Bread issue - though the author conveniently skips significantly the positive development of socialism under the communist party. Before becoming ML Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine introduced me to shock therapy but as an ML I probably need more accurate sources (the only one I can think of top of my head is To Kill A Nation by Parenti but that only touches on this as a tangent).
