I would like to see the Linux Mint project move in three directions:

  1. Drop Xfce and MATE and focus on Cinnamon.
  2. Continue with LMDE and Ubuntu-based Linux Mint, but only with Cinnamon.
  3. Create an immutable version.

If you don't like this distribution, that doesn't mean there shouldn't be an immutable version. Everyone is free to use whatever they want. But I think it would be nice, maybe even useful, to have an immutable version of Mint.

I didn't say it's a bad idea. I said you should go make the change you want to see in the world.

The dev team has its own priorities. If you want to take it in another direction, nothing is stopping you from doing that. It's open source.
