As I mentioned elsewhere, this was partially fueled (pun intended, I am no coward; I intend my puns) by subsidies running out at the end of the year. Buying a car in Norway is HEAVILY taxed, but EVs were exempt from those taxes for as long as I can remember. Many wanted to buy an EV before those exemptions expired.
