My cat will play fetch for as long as I throw her little mouse toy. She'll even let me throw it from bed and she'll bring it right back up for me to throw again.

Our orange will play fetch with qtips. But he drops it increasingly far away when he brings it back...

Mine does this too! He'd bring the toy right to my feet the first few times, then it'll drop it increasingly further away from me
